Churro Fries

Prep time: 10 min Cook time: 15 min

Homemade Churros are a must for Mexican dinner night!

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, unsalted
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • Cinnamon and sugar to coat

1. Combine sugar, butter, water and salt in a sauce pan. Heat to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Add flour and stir well. Cook over low heat for 2 minutes.

2. Remove from heat and let cool 10-15 minutes.

3. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well between each.

4. Place prepared dough into pastry bag or large Ziploc fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 3-4 inch sections into oil preheated to 350. (I used a frying pan and put the heat on medium). Fry until light golden brown, remove from oil, and toss in cinnamon sugar. Serve immediately.
